About Us

Pursuit K-9 Services is owned and operated by lead trainer Pat McGauley, a retired law enforcement canine handler and trainer. Pat began his law enforcement career in 2006 as a Deputy Sheriff in Florida, and became a canine handler in 2009.  He went on to gain his canine trainer certification in 2018 and became the lead trainer for his department.

In 2020, Pat and his family moved to Columbia Falls, Montana where he became a Deputy Sheriff at Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. Since retiring in 2025 he continues to train K-9 teams for FCSO and as a Reserve Deputy and remains a member of the Northwest Montana Regional SWAT team as a canine handler. 

 

Pat has handled three dual-purpose canines in his law enforcement career and has trained numerous canine teams in Florida and Montana.  In 2025, Pat left full-time law enforcement to pursue his passion for dog training.
